Dehydrated chopped onion in a 17 oz jar — the same allium backbone you'd get from a fresh yellow onion, minus the peeling, chopping, and tears. Rehydrates in seconds with any liquid in the pan.
How to Use
Sprinkle straight into hot oil at the start of a sauté; it blooms in 30 seconds. For soups, stews, chili, and braises, add directly to the pot — the cooking liquid rehydrates it. For burgers, meatloaf, meatballs, and dips, soak 1 tablespoon in 2 tablespoons of water for 5 minutes, then mix in. General swap: 1 tablespoon minced equals about a quarter of a medium fresh onion.
Common Uses
Sofrito shortcuts, taco meat, sloppy joes, sausage gravy, French onion dip, tuna and chicken salad, sheet-pan vegetables, dry rubs for ribs and brisket, beef stew, lentil soup, marinara, omelets and frittatas.
Why This Format
No cutting board, no crying, no waste from a half-used onion going soft in the drawer. Shelf-stable for months, measures cleanly by the spoonful, and distributes evenly through batters, rubs, and dressings where raw onion chunks would be too wet or too sharp. Best per-ounce value across our minced onion sizes.
