Holiday Rice with Ham – Paella Style

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Corn, frozen 
  • 1 to 2 tbsp Badia Extra Virgin Olive Oil 
  • ¾ cup Red and Green Sweet Pepper, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Celery, thickly sliced
  • 3/4 cup uncooked Long Grain White Rice 
  • 1 tbsp Badia Minced Garlic in Olive Oil 
  • 2 cups Badia Beef Flavor Bouillon 
  • 1 cup cubed cooked Ham
  • 1 cup Peas, frozen
  • 1/4 tsp Badia Saffron
  • 1 tsp Badia Ham Flavored Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp flat-leaf Italian Parsley, chopped fresh

Directions

  1. In a large skillet add the 1 tbsp of Badia Extra Virgin Olive Oil sauté the peppers, onion, and celery. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add rice, garlic, and Badia Ham Flavored Seasoning; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  3. Remove skillet from the heat and carefully stir in the Badia Beef Flavor Bouillon and ham. Bring to boiling; reduce heat to low.
  4. Simmer covered for 15 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  5. Add the peas and corn, cook uncovered 2 minutes more, then add Badia Saffron.
  6. Remove from the heat and sprinkle freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Tip: Add some drops of our Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce for a twist of heat!
